Amalaki or Amla

Amalaki (Emblica Officinalis, Amla or Indian Gooseberry) is revered by ayurvedic healers as a wonder rasayana capable of delivering a diverse range of benefits to the physiology. For centuries, it has been used for body balance. Amalaki is the cornerstone of ayurvedic medicine, which is traditional Indian medicine over 5000 years old. People in India consider amalaki to be a holy fruit. Amalaki is a deciduous tree that is native to the Indian subcontinent. It grows to a few meters in height and is easily recognized by its crooked trunk and spreading branches.

In the Charak Samhita, an important and prominent herb is mentioned as a rasayan. This rasayan component controls aging and encourages long life. This herb is widely and frequently used to make ayurvedic medicines as it has several outstanding properties. Doctors say that if Amalaki is used on a regular basis, you will survive more than 100 years and remain a youth. It revives all the various systems in the body. It also strengthens and lets the systems function effectively. It enhances our immune system and thus prevents diseases.

Amalaki is indeed a great rasayana, revered in the ayurvedic tradition. Rasayanas are the cream of ayurvedic herbal substances, and have remarkable longevity-enhancing and rejuvenating qualities. Amalaki is a strong natural antioxidant and is also known to help boost the immune system. Reportedly having 20 times the vitamin C content of an orange, it is the highest known natural source of Vitamin C.

It′s not surprising that Amalaki is promptly emerging in herbal therapy as the most rejuvenating food source in the world today. The fruit is not merely a hit or miss item. It’s redeeming qualities and health benefits make it one of the most sought after food items in the world today.
