Bananas Health BenefitsBananas might be one of the few fruits which can be eaten raw, deep fried, baked in their skin in a split bamboo and made into a jam. Consisting of sucrose, fructose and glucose, bananas are considered to be one of the healthiest fruits which provide instant energy. It has been proved through various researches that having two bananas before you workout will give you enough energy to last for 90 minutes. Apart from energy, bananas help you become mentally and physically fit, making it a “must have daily” part of your diet.

Banans help in -

Depression: It was found in a survey by MIND that people suffering from depression felt better after consuming a banana. Our body converts the tryptophan in bananas into serotonin. This serotonin makes a person feel happy and light.

PMS: The Vitamin B6 rich banana helps regulate the blood glucose levels of the body, which is often a reason for your mood swings.

Anemia: Bananas also help enhance the production of hemoglobin in the blood, which, in turn helps in fighting anemia.

Blood Pressure: The US Food and Drug Administration has allowed the Banana Industry to make official claims that Bananas help in reduction of the risk of blood pressure and stroke. This is because Bananas are rich in potassium and still low in salt, making it an ideal fruit for Blood Pressure reduction.

Brain Power: 200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school (England) were helped through their exams by eating bananas for breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. This study indicated that the potassium-packed fruit can aid in learning by increasing alertness amongst students.

Constipation: Including Bananas in your diet can help in restoring healthy bowel moments as Bananas are high in fiber.

Hangovers: Having a banana milkshake with honey might be one of the best ways to get over your hangover. Bananas help calm your stomach; honey helps in building up depleted blood sugar levels, while milk soothes and re-hydrates.

Heartburn: Eat a Banana if you are suffering from heartburn. Banana has a natural antacid like effect on the body giving a soothing relief.

Morning Sickness: Snacking on bananas can also help you get rid of morning sickness as they keep the blood sugar levels up.

Overweight: Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found that pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolates and chips. Observation of 5,000 hospital patients led researchers to conclude that the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. In the report, it was concluded that consumption of high carbohydrate foods every two hours helps control the blood sugar levels. This helps in avoiding pain-induced cravings for eating more and helps in weight loss.

Ulcers:  Bananas, being soft in texture and smooth can be used against intestinal disorders. It is one of the few raw fruits that can be had without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also helps in neutralizing over-acidity and reducing irritation.

Temperature Control: Many other cultures see bananas as a ′cooling′ fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand, for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

Smoking &Tobacco Use: The Vitamin B6, B12 and Potassium and Magnesium in bananas can help the body cope better with the withdrawal symptoms.

Stress: When we are stressed, the metabolic rate of our body rises, thus, leading to reduced potassium levels. Potassium helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates the body′s water balance. Banana, which is rich in potassium, can help in increasing Potassium levels and reducing stress.

Strokes: According to a research in The New England Journal of Medicine, eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!
