Ayurvedic as well as Yunani medicine have been using honey as a vital medicine for centuries. It is known to have medicinal properties without any known side effects.

Honey has been reported to have an inhibitory effect to around 60 species of bacteria across a wide spectrum! It has also been seen to have antifungal action.

Honey is a potent antiseptic and is also good for the digestion, sore throats and colds and for constipation. A tablespoon of honey in a glass on warm milk is a good sedative and a perfect cure for sore throats and cold.

Use of Honey


Honey and Cinnamon for Heart Diseases:

A paste of honey and cinnamon powder, reduces the cholesterol in the arteries and may prevent a heart attack. Honey and cinnamon if eaten with bread or chappati may also relieve loss of breath and strengthens the heartbeat as honey and cinnamon revitalizes the arteries and veins.

Honey and Cinnamon for Arthritis:

Take one part honey to two parts of lukewarm water and add a small teaspoon of cinnamon powder, make a paste and massage it on the itching part of the body slowly. It is noticed that the pain recedes within a minute or two.

Arthritis patients may take daily, morning and night, one cup of hot water with two spoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder.

A research done in the Copenhagen University proved that If taken regularly, honey and cinnamon can even cure chronic arthritis.

Honey and Cinnamon for Toothache:

One teaspoon of cinnamon powder and five teaspoons of honey applied on an aching tooth three times a day can relieve the pain in a few days.

Honey and Cinnamon for High Cholesterol:

Research has also shown that, two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of Cinnamon Powder mixed in 500 ml tea water, given to a cholesterol patient, was found to reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10%.

Honey and Cinnamon for Cold:

Those suffering from common or severe colds should take one tablespoon lukewarm honey with 1/4 spoon cinnamon powder daily for 3 days. This process will cure most chronic cough, cold and clear the sinuses.

Honey and Cinnamon for Flatulence (Gas):

Honey with cinnamon also cures gas or flatulence.

Honey and Cinnamon for Indigestion:

Cinnamon powder sprinkled on two tablespoons of honey taken before food, relieves acidity and digests meals.

Honey and Cinnamon for Strengthening the Immune System:

Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the immune system and protects the body from bacteria and viral attacks. Constant use of honey strengthens the white blood corpuscles to fight bacteria and viral diseases.

Honey and Cinnamon for Skin Infections:

Applying honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts on the affected parts, cures eczema, ringworm and all types of skin infections. Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash it next morning with warm water. If done daily for two weeks, it removes pimples from the root.

Honey and Cinnamon for Weight Loss:

Honey and cinnamon powder boiled in one-cup water and drunk every morning before breakfast may also help in weight loss.

Honey and Cinnamon for Stomach Ulcers:

Honey taken with cinnamon powder may cure stomach ulcers.

So keep honey handy in your kitchen as it helps cure a number of diseases and symptoms.
