Prevent Stress With Ayurveda Prevent Stress With Ayurveda

Stress is the disruption of homeostasis and physical or psychological stimuli. It has physical and emotional effects on us and may have negative influences, resulting in feelings of distrust, rejection, anger, and depression, which in turn can lead to health problems such as headaches, upset stomach, rashes, insomnia, ulcers, high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke.

Instead of stress reduction, ayurveda, which means "the science of life," prescribes a series of stress-prevention techniques.

While stress reduction assumes that we must first incur the stress and then figure out a way to reduce it, stress prevention is a way of life that doesn′t require a huge time commitment and aims not to allow stress to affect us in the first place.

Our modern world has done a good job of disconnecting us from these natural cycles. Ayurveda, on the other hand, suggests a lifestyle in harmony with them. Once you experience what it is like to live with the cycles, it becomes a way of life. Unlike most diets or stress-reduction techniques, stress prevention is a way of life that you will look forward to.

Ayurvedic tips, which not only reduce stress, but prevent it also:

  • Each season offers the human body an opportunity for stress relief and rejuvenation. The nature, in each season, produces the foods according to the bodily demands. So, try to eat more of the foods that are in season, to keep the body fit and the stress away.
  • Nature has daily cycles as well as seasonal cycles that we must follow to prevent stress. One of the best stress-prevention techniques is to eat three meals a day with no snacking between meals. Try to make lunch heavier and supper, a touch lighter and eaten as early as possible.
  • Leaves of holy basil act as an anti stress agent. Chew about 12 holy Basil leaves two times in a day, once in the morning and then later in the evening.
  • Ayurvedic herbs like brahmi and ashwagandha are also highly beneficial in the treatment of stress. These herbs can be taken as capsules or can be infused in boiling water to make tea. Ashwagandha is an herbal supplement that has gained worldwide popularity for its effectiveness in reducing stress.
  • Person suffering from stress should follow a strict regime consisting of proper balanced diet, regular exercise and adequate rest.
  • Yogurt is considered as best remedy for stress. It is rich in Vitamin A, B complex and Vitamin D. It provides relief from insomnia, migraine and cramps associated with menstruation.
  • Hot water bath is one of the beneficial treatments in providing relief from anxiety and stress as it relaxes the whole body.
  • Meditation is also an effective way in reducing stress as it diverts the mind to some good thoughts.
