The global cancer rates are set to increasing at an alarming rate. Statistics indicate that globally, cancer accounts for one in eight of all deaths more than AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria combined.

According to World Cancer Report the numbers could further increase by 50% to 15 million new cases in the year 2020.

Urbanization, unhealthy lifestyle conditions have left its imprint as cancer amongst the developing nation as well.

The good news is that cancer can be prevented. It can be detected early and STOPPED from being malignant.

Cancer cells are the modified or mutated cells which grow very fast and damage all healthy cells around them. The immune system of the body is affected and cancer cells snatch away the nutrition of the other tissue without actually contributing in terms of any function and slowly kill the functional cells.

Cancer cells are stimulated due to various causes. The diet which we eat matters. A diet which is very rich in processed and has no nutrition, the body ends up producing cancer cells due to fermentation and lack of oxygen.

Genetics, stress, over use of tobacco, alcohol, medications can contribute to cancer. Exposure to radiation is also a major contributor these days.

Prevent Cancer: 

  • Eat dark green vegetables in the diet as they are rich in cancer fighting vitamins.
  • Include more whole-grain breads and cereals and other high fiber foods to ensure cleansing of bowels.
  • Fresh fruits are a vital source of vitamins and enzymes that fight cancer
  • Sprouts and salads are healthy source of fresh enzymes and antioxidants.
  • Exercise, brisk walks and yoga are important.
  • Avoid acidic and processed foods like baked foods, non-veg. Also avoid smoked foods like barbeques which are considered carcinogenic.
  • Eat organic and avoid colorants and preservatives.
