Yes. Infrequent eating, fasting, long gaps, excessive physical activity, stress all can result in dipping the blood sugars of the diabetic to below normal i.e 45mg/dl (Hypoglycemia) which causes sweating, tremors and even fainting. This extreme condition is called hypoglycemic shock.

so ideally diabetic must not follow strict fast. include small and frequent meals and check your sugar levels time to time.
