Re: Good diet for BP
Blood pressure is a leading cause of heart diseases and one must modify the life style and dietary habits to maintain it.
Low sodium diet is recommended to hypertensive patients. Include low sodium containing foods such as lauki, tori, tinda, bhindi etc from vegetables; low fat milk and milk products; beans, lentils etc.
Avoid high sodium foods such as a green leafy vegetables, processed food like potato chips, pickles, papads, preservatives such as sodium benzoat etc.
One can steam green leafy vegetables in water and discard the water. this will help to remove sodium and then it is healthy. This process is called as leaching.
Low sodium salt is very important in management of hypertension.
