Re: What is the difference between salt and sodium?
Salt(NaCl)is made up of sodium(Na) and chloride(Cl).
Sodium is the ingredient which can cause raised blood pressure.
To calculate the amount of salt in a food, multiply the amount of sodium by 2.5.
Try to keep your salt intake to just 5-6gms(1tsp) per day.
