Smokers - Oxidise your Body
People who smoke or use any type of tobacco have increased nutritional requirements. This is due to intake of carcinogen and decreased absorption of nutrients from diet cause of nicotine.
To reduce risks of cancer try to cut down smoking / tobacco chewing and quitting it. Antioxidants can be included in the diet. Consume 3-5 serving of green / orange / red colored vegetables and fruit every day. Avoid tea or coffee. Increase nuts and oils seeds such as almonds, walnuts, flax seeds, fish, fish oil in daily diet.
Vit C requirement is increased in smokers. Try to consume fruits and vegetables rich in vit c or go for supplements. Studies have recommended slow releasing vit c supplement containing bioflavonoides are required for smokers.
Yellow orange fruits - carrots, pumpkin, oranges, mangoes, spinach are useful as a source of caretenoid and lycopene from tomatoes is effective to reduce cancer risks. Garlic and onion are good source of antioxidants and has anti bacterial, anti viral properties. One must consume low fat, medium carb and high protein diet. Regular physical activity is essential.
You can try dozens of health tips or diet plan but one cannot compensate the health damage done by cigarette or smoking. Tobacco use remains most common cause of death and ill health in most developed countries.
