| Lentils,uncooked | 2 cups | |
| Water | 10 cups | |
| Onion chopped | 1 | |
| Carrots chopped | 2 | |
| Stalks celery, chopped | 2 | |
| Potatoes, cut in chunks | 3 | |
| Bay leaves | 2 | |
| Salt | 1 tsp | |
| Black pepper | 1/2 tsp |
METHOD
- Combine all ingredients in a large soup pot. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to simmer.
- Cook covered for about 45 minutes, until the lentils are soft and start to fall apart.
- Once cooked add salt & pepper.
