Cholesterol is heavy, and cough problem included she has.

Answer: Before you even think of a diet, make sure your thyroid levels are good. THat means more than just being in range. You should have the first thing in the morning TSH around 1.0 if you are on T4 (Synthroid, Levoxyl, etc) Also you need to have the free t3 at least midrange. Once you've got the thyroid stuff set, just reduce carbs, add more fiber, and exercise. Get thyroid levels right, reducing carbs, and exercise should help the cholesterol.
