my nutritionist has put me on a raw food diet because I am approaching morbid obesity and choloesterol is high. Im gung ho about it and determined. just wondering how long it would take for noticeable weight loss ?

Answer: I didn't have a detox past about 4 days and it wasn't bad for me... after that... If you are big like you say... all the roughage that you will be eating will clean you out quickly, which will amount to more than you think. After that it will begin to rapidly drop your weight as you lose... it may go through a stationary period after you lose some weight for a week or so while your body adjusts, but stick with it and it will net you massive loss quickly... good luck.

I want to continue to lose weight after my water fast- but will the weight loss of a raw food lifestyle slow down after water fasting?

Answer: After water fasting of course weight loss will slow down. That's because food is being introduced into your system and food has weight. When there's food in your intestines and digestive system, you will weigh more. However, that's not fat. Also, the weight you lose on a water fast will be mostly water weight, because your sodium and water tables will be off. With no sodium to hold onto the water, the water will go down your toilet, so to speak. Once you begin to eat foods and introduce sodium, you will gain that water back. That's why it's so important to always drink a lot of water. Good luck with your raw food. :)

I'm getting into a raw and vegan lifestyle but sometimes miss my favorite flavors. Answer: I know this answer won't completely resolve your question, but I think a lot of the best recipes are ones that aren't pretending to be something else. For instance, in Veganomicon, a vegan cookbook I highly recommend, they have a recipe for Pumpkin Baked Ziti, which is delicious! And it resembles nothing in the Carnivore World! haha Other than that though, the internet and health food stores are a good source for other substitutes. Good luck!
