Ingredients:

Crabs   2
Dry Red chilies   3
Ginger   2 inch piece
Garlic cloves   6
Onion   2 medium
Grated Coconut   1/2 cup
Cumin   2 cup
Pepper   1/2 tsp
Fennel seeds   1 tsp
Cinnamon   1 stick
Chopped Tomato   1
Turmeric powder   2 tsp
Curry Leaves   1 string
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
 

Method:

  • Clean the crab and separate into pieces. Remove the top shell.
  • Grind the ingredients 2–10 to make a fine paste.
  • Heat oil in a pan and sauté the crab pieces along with finely chopped tomatoes and turmeric powder for about 3 minutes
  • Add the ground masala paste to the pan and sauté for another 5 minutes
  • Add half a cup of water and salt to the pan, cover and cook on medium heat for about 15 minutes.
  • Uncover and increase the heat to high, and fry it till most of the water is evaporated to form a thick gravy. Stir fry more, if you want it dry.
