Ingredients:

Oil   2 tsp
Garlic cloves, minced   2
Fresh ginger   1 slice
Green chilli   1
Onion   1/4 cup
Soy sauce   2 tsp
Sugar   2 tsp
Vinegar   2 tsp
Tomato paste   1 tbsp
Fresh shrimp   200 g
 

Method:

  • Heat oil in a medium saucepan and saute garlic, ginger, and onion. Add soy sauce and sugar, and bring to a boil. Cook, covered, over medium-low heat 8 minutes or until onion is tender. Cool mixture slightly.
  • Transfer to a blender; add vinegar and tomato paste and make a puree. Mix shrimp with 1/4 cup of the sauce; cover and refrigerate for 15 minutes. Grill in a hot oven till it turns pink.
  • Serve shrimp with remaining sauce.
