| Big banana flower |
|

Method: |
- Remove the red petals and take out the white buds from the base. Each flower has a stamen in the center. Remove it.
- Chop and cook the flowers in salted boiling water till tender.
- Add a little tamarind water when cooked, drain off excess water and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a kadai. Add mustard seeds.
- When it splutters, add urad dhal and red chillies.
- Add cooked banana flower, and dhal. Mix well.
- Add asafetida and curry leaves and cook for five minutes.
- Add grated coconut and serve.
