Method: |
- Scrape, wash and cut lauki into half lengthwise.
- Scoop out the center, chop and keep aside.
- Boil, peel and mash potatoes.
- Heat 1 tsp fat in a pan, add 1/4 tsp jeera, 1/8 tsp red chilli powder, mashed potatoes, chopped onion, chopped green chilli, 1/4 tsp salt and the scooped out centre portion of lauki.
- Mix thoroughly and cook covered for a few minutes. Keep aside.
- In the same pan, heat 2 tsp fat and add rest of the dry spices, salt and curds. Add 1/2 teacup water.
- Fill lauki with the prepared potato mixture and keep it in the curd mixture in the pan.
- Cover pan and steam till lauki is soft and the masala fairly dry.
- Serve hot sprinkled with garam masala.
