Ingredients:

Washed urad dal   60 g
Water   3 Cup
Ginger   1" Piece (10g)
Salt   1 tsp
Red Chilli powder   1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder   1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds   1/4 tsp
Garam Masala   1/4 tsp
Onion (Chopped)   1/4 small (10g)
Fat   4 tsp
 

Method:

  • Pick, clean and wash the dal.
  • Chop ginger.
  • Add dal and water in a heavy bottom pan.
  • Add ginger, salt and turmeric powder. Bring it to boil and continue cooking on slow fire till tender and of desired consistency.
  • Heat fat, fry chopped onion till golden brown. Add cumin seeds, garam masala and red chilli powder. Put this baghar over the dal and serve hot in bowl.
