Ingredients:

Masoor dhal   1/4 Cup
Bunches of spinach   2
Tomatoes   2
Onions   2
Ginger-Chilli paste   11/2 tsp
Oil   1/2 tsp
Salt   To taste
Turmeric Powder   1/4 tsp
Jeera seeds   1/2 tsp
 

Method:

  • Chop the Spinach into small pieces and cook with sufficient quantity of water.
  • Wash dal and cook it with turmeric powder in a pressure cooker.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan and put few cumin seeds. When cumin starts spluttering add onions and fry till they become golden brown.
  • Add ginger-chilli paste to it and again fry for a minute.
  • Mix chopped tomatoes. When tomatoes get cooked, add spinach and cooked dal. Now add water and salt. Boil the mixture for few minutes.
  • Serve hot.
