Prep Time Cook Time Serves



Broken wheat, cleaned and washed   1 cup
Cumin seeds   1tsp
Asafoetida   ¼ tsp
Cloves   2
Cinnamon   1/2 inch piece
Onion, diced   ½ cup
French beans, diced   1/2 cup
Carrot, diced   ½ cup
Cauliflower, cut into florets   1/2 cup
Green peas   1/4 cup
Green chilli-ginger paste   1/2 tsp
Chilli powder   2 tsp
Turmeric powder   1/2 tsp
Oil   2 tbsp
Salt to taste  
For garnish:   2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves.


  • In a glass bowl, combine the oil, cumin seeds, asafoetida, cloves and cinnamon and microwave on High for 1 minute.
  • Add the broken wheat, mix well and cover with a lid. Microwave on high for 1 minute, stirring once in between after 30 seconds.
  • Add all the other ingredients and 2 cups of hot water and mix well.
  • Cover with a lid and microwave on High for 9 minutes.
  • Stir well and microwave on High for 2 more minutes.
  • Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves.
