Prep Time Cook Time Serves



Roasted flaxseed powder   30 gms.
Rice   60 gms.
Black gram dal   30 gms.
Spinach puree   30 gms.
Tomato puree   30 gms.
Onion   50 gms.
Salt to taste  


  • Soak black gram dal and rice in water for 7-8 hrs.
  • Grind the soaked dal and rice into fine paste. Add less water while grinding the grains.
  • Keep aside the dal and rice batter for another 7-8 hrs. This will initiate fermentation process.
  • Mix spinach and tomato puree with rice-dal batter. Flax seed powder and finely chopped onion can be added at this stage.
  • Apply this batter on preheated pan. Spread evenly over the pan and cook till it turns golden brown.
  • Serve this duet uttapa with pudina chutney while its hot.
