Ingredients: |
Apples |

Method: |
- Peel outer skin, remove center core and cut apples into thin slices. Apply little lemon juice to prevent discolouring.
- Pour ½ cup of water, ¼ cup of sugar to the sliced apples, cook for few minutes. Drain the syrup and keep aside.
- Beat eggs till frothy. Add rest of the sugar, milk and essence, beat well.
- Apply little butter to a flat cake tin or a pie dish.
- Spread jam evenly on the base and sides.
- Arrange stewed apples in a round decorative manner on the base of the dish on top of the jam. Pour beaten egg, milk mixture on top.
- Cover the dish with butter paper and tie loosely with a string.
- Steam cook in a pressure cooker or in a saucepan, which has a lid for 20 to 30 minutes or until it, is cooked. (Put a stand and then keep the dish on top. Preheat water in cooker before keeping the dish).
- Turn upside down on a dish and serve when it is still warm.
