Psoriasis is one of the most immovable skin diseases. It is a chronic disease, recognized by thick, red, silvery, scaled patches of skin. This disease affects both sexes consistently, and is more common during the first fifteen to thirty years, although it may appear at any age. Psoriasis is not infectious but skin looks red, irritated and with bright silvery scales. Normally, the skin of the person suffering from this disease appears red and irritated and may be covered with bright silvery scales. Occasionally, there is little itching also. The areas usually concerned are elbows, knees, and the skin behind ears, trunk, and scalp. The disease may also have an effect on the underarms and genital areas. The lesions differ in size from minute papules to sheets covering large parts of the body.
Psoriasis Green leafy cabbage is one of the best home remedies for treatment of psoriasis. This is used as a covering for the infected area. Take the outermost layer of a cabbage, clean it using warm water. Rinse all the extra water by pressing between a towel. Once the leaf is dried, spread it on the slab, and flatten it by pressing with hand and place it on the affected area.
Do not eat hot, spicy and pungent foods. They are difficult to digest and cause toxins in the blood. When the toxins build up in the body, the psoriasis can spread to a great extent.
Avoid salts and curds as they can inflame the skin further. They will cause greater itching and hence more discomfort. Rock salt can be taken in small quantities for flavoring, but not the salt readily available in the market.
Include green vegetables, cucumber, carrot, fruits in your diet as they are good for psoriasis patients. Fruits that are beneficial in curing psoriasis are beets, grapes, cucumber, etc.
Patient should take bath in sea water. It is very good for the treatment of psoriasis.
Bath in Epsom salt or oatmeal containing water is also recommended. Do not use chemical-based soaps as it will make the problem severe and painful.
Do not bath too much. Always dry your body with soft, clean towel after bath.
Simmer 25 grams each of dried burdock seed and chamomile flowers in 600 ml of water, for about 15 minutes. Strain the mixture through a clean cloth, sweeten it with honey and store it in a refrigerator. Have 3 tablespoons of the decoction, 3 to 4 times a day on a regular basis.
In a small cup of olive oil, put 2 drops of calendula oil and 1 drop of oregano oil. Rub it on the affected area.
In 4 cups of water, boil 4 marigold heads for about 2 minutes. Once cooled, massage the lotion into your scalp. Then, wash hair with a mild shampoo. Add lemon juice or cider vinegar to the rinsing water to ensure a thorough rinse.
Mix a cup of freshly prepared bitter gourd juice with a tsp of limejuice. Drink this mixture every day, on an empty stomach for 4 to 5 days.
